Greener together – live!

Join us for a day of talks, stalls and hands-on activities in and around the Winns Gallery in beautiful Lloyd Park. Be inspired to interact more with your outdoor spaces and celebrate London becoming the world’s first National Park City.

The day will see a collection of stalls showcasing outdoor activities for people to get involved in and there will be an array of fast-paced talks to inspire people to take a different view of London’s urban environment and get out and about more. There will be opportunities to create artworks and, if you’re game, to get your hands muddy! National Park City Makers will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions you have about the National Park City.

Our speakers will be imagining a greener, healthier and wilder London. Each talk will ask ‘What if?’ For example, what if the Town Hall fountain was a wildlife pond? What if offices only had outdoor walk-and-talk meetings? What if we had more indoor jungles? What if mini-Holland was maxi-Holland? And what if these ideas weren’t just in our imagination but just around the corner?

Leave the event with a new view of London and knowing how to get more involved in the outdoors and make a difference!

It is a free event. Just turn up on the day to take part or book free tickets for the talks in advance here as there will be a limited amount available on the day.

When: 11.00am – 4.15pm, Saturday 27th July

Where: Winns Gallery, Lloyd Park, Forest Road, Walthamstow

What: A day of inspirational talks, stalls and activities to mark London becoming a National Park City

The event is run by William Morris Big Local, a resident-led, Lottery-funded project that aims to make our ward an even better place to live. One of the residents’ priorities was to make our outdoor spaces and external environment both more useful and beautiful for the benefit of all who live, work and play here to increase their usage. It is with this in mind that we have created this event.
