On Saturday 27th July over 300 people joined us at Lloyd Park for our Greener Together – Live event, a day of talks, stalls and all things green, wild and healthy! The wet weather couldn’t dampen the mood as we celebrated our vital open spaces and explored the fun ways in which we can use and interact with them.
We had some incredible speakers sharing their “what if……” vision for a Greener, Wilder and Healthier Walthamstow. Our speakers spoke of green walls, healthy walks, re-wilding our country, educational programmes, giving up plastic, making skater friendly landscapes and designing in ways we can interact more with our urban jungle. For a full list of the speakers and the topics they spoke of click here.
To help inspire the crowd even further we had hands on planting demonstrations, seed bomb making as well as nature inspired arts n crafts. We were blown away by the positive response people gave us about the event and this has convinced us to bring back a regular green event to Lloyd Park.
We must thank our fantastic volunteers who helped on the day without whom we wouldn’t have been able to put on such a great event. And a huge thanks also goes out to all of the organisations and speakers who made our Greener Together event a really special day. If you would like to get in touch about our plans for a greener William Morris Ward don’t hesitate to get in touch! We are always looking for people to help us turn vision into reality!
